This is an original, linen-backed, theatrical movie poster from 1973 for the initial release of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) in Turkey. The science fiction classic stars Gary Lockwood, Keir Dullea, William Sylvester, Daniel Richter, Leonard Rossiter, Robert Beatty and Douglas Rain. Stanley Kubrick directed the film. Bob McCall is the artist for the poster.
The poster measures 27.5” x 39.25” and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. The poster was in good to very good condition prior to restoration with a tear on the top-right corner and pinholes from theatrical display. It was folded at the time of printing and had fold wear and a tiny separation at the cross-fold. The fold lines are less prominent after restoration. Linen-backed posters are stored flat and rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
