This is an original, recalled, double-sided one-sheet movie poster from 2000 for Spike Lee's Bamboozled starring Damon Wayans, Savion Glover, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Tommy Davidson, and Michael Rapaport. Spike Lee directed the film that satirized the treatment of African Americans by the television industry.
The poster was recalled shortly after being issued to movie theaters due to concerns about the racist and offensive imagery (used purposefully to invoke the message of the film). The New York Times refused to run an advertisement for with similar artwork due to concerns that their readers would be offended (without the context of the film which actually criticizes racist stereotypes). The poster was replaced with a new design and most of these recalled posters were destroyed.
It measures 27” x 40.75” (it has not been trimmed) and is in very good to excellent condition with minimal wear from handling. It has never been folded.
Please look closely at the photo as this is the exact poster you are buying. It is not cropped or a stock image.
This rare and collectible, poster printed in 2000 to promote the theatrical release of Bamboozled, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
